Research For A Project

I may have mentioned I attend school for Psychology. While doing that, it’s become a helpful tool in my current work. Not only do I use information from paper’s I’ve written for my classes, but I also use scholarly studies in the actions of my main character, her emotions, her thought pattern, and her goal.

My original planning of a story may or may not include what things I may have to research. In this particular story I had to use all of the above mentioned material as well as Google for time relevant information, YouTube for the playlist, CounterCultsearch.com for similarities to the main character and past cult leaders as well as differences to make her unique.

I know these sound like dull ways to research for my stories but this particular one I needed more info on the time frame and cults. It does help tremendously to have the psych books and research available. I like to add reliability to the story. I will also be researching police procedures as well in the near future. I tend to do my research as I need it rather than when I’m writing up the outline. The next story that will change. I will need to collect everything in the beginning to help the story flow and decide what info I want and will use.
